Genesis
Agency for Development of Aquaculture, Kerala (ADAK) is an autonomous body established on 24.05.1989 and registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955, promoted by Department of Fisheries, Government of Kerala is constituted especially for the development of shrimp farming by channelizing Kuwait fund with technical consultancy of Aquatic Farms, Ohio, USA. It is the frontline Organization functioning for the Development of aquaculture and allied activities. The Agency is implementing various aquaculture development projects with the financial assistance of State and Central Government as well as other external funding sources. ADAK contributes income and employment opportunities to the farmers and thereby facilitates the development of fisheries by way of production, distribution and trade of variety of seeds, feeds and other allied accessories required for aquaculture.
